They work to improve the welfare and prospects of people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa, without regard to faith, origin, or gender.Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Senior Research Assistant, AKDN-dHRC.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:

  • assist and coordinate with teams to identify new inventions and innovations
  • identify where and which patent applications to file
  • draft, review, and file U.S / foreign patent applications˙
  • perform comparison and background studies related to digital health interventions, innovations, and patents˙
  • assist in documentation of technical and functional requirement gathering
  • assist in presenting key information and recommendations through stakeholder engagement
  • perform functional testing, executing manual scripts, document, and report results˙
  • analyse identified problems; re-test and validate modifications
  • create instruction manuals and how to guides for users˙
  • write reviews on manufacturer?s products and preventive maintenance manuals
  • assist with content creation for communications material.
RequirementsYou should have:
  • a Bachelor?s degree in IT or Engineering. Additional Medical, Engineering and IT knowledge will be preferred
  • at least one to two years of relevant experience˙
  • comprehensive knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • sound understanding and knowledge of quality assurance and functionality testing
  • extensive knowledge of manual and patent writing
  • expertise in Microsoft Office applications
  • resilience and ability to cope under pressure
  • basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, UI design and UML diagrams
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English˙
  • good communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a one year contractual position, which may be renewed based on mutual consent.
