Manager, Institute for Global Health and DevelopmentEntityAga Khan UniversityLocationPakistan, KarachiIntroductionThe Aga Khan University?s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.Benazir Nashonuma Program (BNP) under the umbrella of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) was initiated by the government in 2020 to improve maternal and child health, and particularly to reduce stunting in children. Aga Khan University, Center of Excellence is conducting an evaluation of the program through a quasi experimental study, longitudinal cohort and implementation research.Responsibilities:You will be responsible to supervise project activities related to field and data management to ensure quality control, while maintaining good working relationship with staff, community and various stakeholders involved.Specific responsibilities will be to:

• supervise and monitor survey-related field activities, ensure proper identification and registration of research subject as per study protocols, supervise and monitor domiciliary visits
• hire study staff and provide training to them as per the protocols and guidelines of study
• develop high quality research proposals for funding agency
• prepare and compile periodic study progress reports and present the study results as per the requirements
• support the Manager in obtaining permissions from provincial health and administrative authorities for survey implementation
• develop and share operational plan for training, data collection and monitoring
• liaison with key partners for monitoring activities in different field operations and perform monitoring visits to ensure data quality
• identify logistics for survey teams with the support of AKU line departments
• delegate tasks between teams for various project activities
• able to write manuscript
• able to manage data, conduct quality checks and coordinate with data management unit for data related issues and updates, prepare and submit daily progress reports of all teams to the supervisor.

• at least a Master?s degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology or any other relevant discipline
• at least three years of relevant experience at management level, preferably in healthcare or research organization of good repute
• comprehensive knowledge of modern research tools and techniques
• excellent project management skills including ability to lead work force and manage resources effectively
• strong management and supervision skills
• excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present complex ideas and information in clear and meaningful form to various stakeholders
• excellent ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under work pressure
• willingness for extensive travelling to various field sites for monitoring and supervision.
