As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact, and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.Job Roles / Responsibilities:This position is responsible to assist in overall program implementation and carrying out onsite research activities by collecting data through qualitative and quantitative techniques, data analysis and manuscript writing:

  • Assist smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of data collection activities.
  • Data Collection through qualitative (In-depth interviews and focus group) and quantitative (questionnaires/surveys) techniques.
  • Work with the team on development and implementation of research tools, trainings and analysis of data.
  • Conduct literature reviews and provide support in writing research papers.
  • Ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the study tools.
  • Make surprise visits to household and field sites to check quality of collected data.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with ethical guidelines and regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research protocols and ethical approvals
  • Coordinating communication between the research team and various other stakeholders
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and share with supervisor and core group.
  • Assist in preparing manuscripts and abstracts for publications and presentations as per guidance of PI/Co PI and investigators.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research in the field by reviewing scientific literature
  • Prepare comprehensive literature reviews to inform research design and analysis
  • Continuously develop and improve research skills through training and professional development opportunities
  • Assist senior researchers in drafting grant proposals and identifying funding opportunities
  • Conduct independent research into potential funding sources relevant to the teams research area
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences and workshops
Requirements:
  • Bachelor?s in social science/nutrition/public health or in any administration-related discipline
  • One to two years of experience working in community-based research studies (Qualitative, Quantitative, and mixed-method study) is desirable
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Willingness to work in the community setting and travel as per requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and resilience to cope-up with work pressure
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS word and excel
  • Command on basic analytical skills; preferably on R studio/ SPSS
  • Basic scientific writing skills (participated in 1-2 the research publication)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written skills including meeting minutes, report and manuscript writing
