IntroductionFounded in 1983, the Aga Khan University (AKU) has 13 teaching sites in 6 countries and 3 continents, all established with the intention of bringing international standards of excellence to the developing world in the domains of teaching, research, and service. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects.
