DepartmentInstitute of Global Health DevelopmentEntityMedical CollegeLocationKarachi, PakistanIntroduction to the Aga Khan University:The Aga Khan University?s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.This is a short-termed contractual position for a period of five months.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:

  • actively participate in data collection and entry as well as maintain necessary records
  • conduct in-depth interviews with the identified participants across Sindh and Punjab
  • transcribe and translate the interviews on a regular basis
  • create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders of the research project team for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project.
  • ensure validity and reliability of data collected from the required field
  • ensure proper data collection, entry, recording and monitoring as per the project guidelines
  • follow and ensure implementation of project related sops and guidelines, as defined in the research project
  • assist supervisors in carrying out day-to-day research unit related work
  • prepare and present periodic project related activity reports
  • keep track and follow-up with teams on progress reports of the project
  • provide assistance in the preparation of periodic progress reports
  • participate in project meetings and presenting monthly monitoring reports
  • write and disseminate meeting minutes.
RequirementsYou should have:
  • preferably a Master?s degree in Nursing, Sociology, Health Policy & Management, Public Health or related field
  • at least three years of relevant experience in any reputable organisation
  • experience of conducting qualitative research
  • excellent interpersonal skills particularly communication and writing skills
  • proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • ability to work effectively in teams and resilience to cope-up with work pressure.
