AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards.The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic centre which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH?s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology & Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of, Research Associate Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. This study will aim to create biobank of geographically representative, phenotyped samples for test development, bench marking and pre-qualification / registration.This is a grant-funded contractual position.The candidate will be an integral part of the Project with responsibilities including:

• ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research related activities
• responsible for collaborating & monitoring and troubleshooting of all recruitment field sites
• visiting different households in the communities to ensure successful completion of data collection in their areas including quality control
• liaising with admin regarding logistics for field/hospital work
• collaborate with study sites for patient samples
• responsible for data management and data analysis
• responsible for timely submission of technical and financial report
• he/she will be responsible for develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures and responsible for technical and financial report
• provide back up in absence of staff in the assigned area
• provide assistance in smooth implementation though teams
• responsible for field visits for trouble shooting

• graduation in relevant field preferably with general nursing and CMW diploma
• 2-3 years of related work experience including in managing/coordinating research projects
• excellent interpersonal skills particularly communication skills
• proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Word and excel
• ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
• ability to work effectively in teams and resilience to cope-up with work pressure
• excellent communication and report writing skills
• willingness to work in community setting and travel as per work requirements
