Job Description

PharmacistDepartmentPharmacy ServicesEntityAga Khan University HospitalLocationKarachi, PakistanIntroductionAga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Pharmacist.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacies including:

  • reviewing and processing of physician orders for accurate therapeutic dose.
  • monitoring lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interaction, duplication of same class etc.
  • ensuring timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients.
  • ensuring the accuracy of the label before dispensing.
  • accurate and timely completion of expiry drug list.
  • assisting in patient counseling for outpatient prescription and maintenance of cash.
  • preparingcytotoxic drug, TPN solution, IVPB mixtures etc.
  • preparingsterile injection, bulk compounding and monitoring of chemo critical list.
Requirements
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy from a recognized University.
  • Professional registration with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.
  • One year traineeship in a medium / large hospital OR preferably 1 - 2 years experience as a Pharmacist.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning.
  • Sound knowledge of Physiology, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical.
  • Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceutical and their indications.
  • Ability to communicate with medical professionals.
