Our team of over 400 engineers and developers are empowered to develop cutting-edge technology every day.Careem was established in July 2012, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc. in January 2020, and today operates in over 100 cities across 12 countries.About the teamThis individual will be working within Careem FinOps function and will be leading payroll processing, verification and payments with Accounting and cross functional partners, while being responsible for the day-to-day activities related to payroll and other related matters.What youll do

• Verify and overlook the global payroll of Careem of all 15 countries and manage the local teams to ensure successful processing of payroll every month with 100% accuracy.
• Be responsible for the various stages of payroll process from verification of payroll files, validating payroll registers and evaluation of different elements included in the relevant months payroll.
• Ensure adequate data is being processed and ensure alignment with people team (HR) and local finance teams before processing of payouts.
• Engage with key partners to support them with payroll costing, budget vs actual variance and fixing any data allocation errors.
• Review and assess new processes at a holistic level to ensure a comprehensive end-to-end evaluation of any process or accounting risk and ensure adequate controls are in place to avoid any issues or risk in the process.
• Work on month-end closing items, and ensure accurate processing to accruals related to payroll items such as end of service, annual leaves etc.

What youll need

• Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and payouts.
• Experience of managing payroll of 1500+ employees.
• Professional accounting qualification.
• Experience with Oracle or another large-scale ERP
• Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form across a wide array of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
