Manager, E-Motive Project, Institute for Global Health and DevelopmentEntityAga Khan UniversityLocationKarachi, PakistanIntroductionThe Aga Khan University?s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to for overall coordination of the research projects which involves to prepare, update project documents, communicate with collaborators and investigators, and implement research projects in field, conduct data analysis and compilation of project reports. Specific responsibilities include to:

  • implement and supervise research projects, develop instruments for data collection and monitoring
  • share progress of the projects, supervise data entry activities and reporting
  • developSOPs for projects and administrative processes and procedures at all field sites, hireand trainphyisicians as per projects requirements
  • evaluatethe performance of staff and givefeedback, conductinternal audits for on-going research projects and reportproject Director/Prinicipal Investigators with recommendations
  • hireand trainresearch staff as per project requirements
  • workclosely with administrative staff to ensure discipline, sufficient supplied and optimal staff at the fieldsites on day-to-day basis
  • prepare and manage the day-to-day rosters for all field staff
  • observe, troubleshootm and report higher management with solution for identified problems to ensure efficient performance at the field sites
  • liase with community leaders, and project staff of all tiers to ensure smooth running of projects activities within the settings
  • prepare and compile study progress report
  • produce monthly project reports in consultation with the Data Manager.
RequirementsYou should have:
  • a Master?s degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Sociology or equivalent
  • at least five years of relevant research and health system experience
  • good networking and interpersonal skills
  • familiarity with government health system
  • ability to plan field activities as per timelines and allocated resources
  • capability to manage field teams, work independently and take initiatives
  • good verbal and written skills in English
  • understand mechanism of quality control and assurance
  • ability to conduct training of field staff
  • excellent commend on computer packages like Ms Word, Excel etc.
