Director, Macro Trading - (2200017262)Job: Institutional BankingPrimary Location: Africa & Middle East-Pakistan-KarachiSchedule: Full-timeEmployee Status: PermanentPosting Date: 01/Jul/2022, 7:14:21 AMUnposting Date: 15/Jul/2022, 10:59:00 PMRole Responsibilities To trade FX and assist the Fixed Income Trading and Rates Derivatives business in Pakistan by pricing transactions and managing short term positions in order to maximize revenue at acceptable risk.Strategy*

  • Contribute to the Pakistan FX and Rates Trading team revenue, facilitate client business and manage risk.
  • Support development of trading expertise of the team, as well as overall professional development of direct and indirect reports.
  • Support and develop Pakistan FX and Rates trading capabilities that enhance the value of the current business, provide liquidity internally to other trading desks and promote the product across the client base covering their needs.
  • Act as a Benchmark Rate Submitter (for WACER) and follow policies of Compliance for this activity.
  • Awareness and understanding of Group?s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
Business*
  • Enhance the standards of the back office support for the desk, providing training and advice when necessary and closely monitoring actions. Facilitate the middle office and risk managers teams duties.
  • Strengthen the firms name in the market, both in front of clients and other dealers, as an active market participant and liquidity provider throughout the year, therefore resulting in an improvement in the bank position in end user surveys.
  • Keep close contact with the key sales and structures to make sure their clients needs are well understood and a proactive positive input can be added from the trading side during the year, help to achieve annual targets for both groups by providing sharp pricing, market colour support and easy execution.
  • Organize meetings with sales/structures to strengthen partnership and better understand their needs. Preparation of marketing emails and educational presentations that allow the sales force to sell the product in a more professional manner.
  • Organize and participate in team meetings to ensure efforts/expectations/knowledge are properly aligned and leverage on the team is maximum.
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates.
Processes*
  • Aim for all processes to be adhered to across Pakistan, in line with approved policies and procedures with remediation pursued when relevant
  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase productivity and reduce operational risk
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining frameworks to ensure FM Pakistan business processes are efficient, appropriate and compliant with all internal and external regulations
People & Talent *
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
  • Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.

  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • The ability to interpret the Group?s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance *
  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group?s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Responsible for delivering ?effective governance?; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
