Data Analyst, Department of Anaesthesiology Organization: Aga Khan UniversityIntroductionThe Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistan?s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.The Department of Anaesthesiology at Aga Khan University is committed to providing clinical excellence in perioperative care as well as the training of future anaesthesiologists. Our team of trained and well-experienced anesthesiologists aims to provide best possible patient care not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it. With current 35 clinical faculty our department is one of the biggest Anaesthesia department in country, our faculty is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and our programs are recognized at national and international level.You will be responsible to:

• assist with the design, development, implementation, and support of the clinical data repositories and Business Analytic platform?s data architecture, including assessment of the client?s needs, and offering solutions for effective data analysis, interpretation and visualizations
• develop and support of detailed dimensional data models
• provide ETL design, development, implementation, and support of the for the data warehouse
• assist in extracting data from the source system into the data warehouse staging area, ensuring data validation, data accuracy, data type conversion, and business rule application
• collect, manipulate, pre-process and analyse complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources and present insights using different visualization tools
• use machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyse healthcare data; understand cohorts of patients, based on combination of health conditions and demographics, and improve outcomes
• support extraction and management, data wrangling, analysis, and interpretation of complicated, disparate datasets
• develop dashboards that provide reliable insights and visualization
• collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, clinical leads, researchers, and technical teams to ensure smooth running of projects? activities within the settings
• support data science peers with technical advice in your areas of expertise
• sssist in completing IRB applications for research projects and with the writing of grant progress reports to the funding agencies
• Provide assistance in the preparation of periodic research and progress reports
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

• Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputable institution
• 0-2 years of related prior professional experience
• skills in data collection, management, transformation, analysis, and interpretation
• proficient with Data Extraction, Extract Transform and Load (ETL) software and SQL
• excellent scripting and programming skills; Proficiency with R and/or Python and SQL
• working knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing
• familiarity with machine learning techniques including clustering, classification, regression, optimization, recommendation, natural language processing, and others
• understanding of data and analytical frameworks in health care industry
• knowledge of Linux, experience with Google and Amazon Machine Learning and Cloud tools is a plus
• ability to articulate research questions, form hypotheses, review and synthesize existing literature
• ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization
• excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• excellent communication and presentation skills; Experience presenting insights to technical and non-technical colleagues.
