As a member of an agile team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data security and privacy-centric services. These services are responsible for the end-to-end security of customer, partner, and colleague data within Careem?s infrastructure and services. You will be expected to drive constant innovation on the ground in a dynamic environment experiencing exciting hyper growth across geographies and verticals. As well as working independently, you will also be responsible for making technical decisions and working with the team, the wider security department and wider technology division to implement and help implement the security principles around data protection and privacy protection.The individual will work closely with our Infrastructure, Product Engineering, IT, Legal and Compliance teams to build secure, robust, and scalable data security solutions. We take the trust that our customers, partners, and colleagues put in us very seriously and our data security services need to measure up to this expectation and you will be a key part in this.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESResponsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data security solutions for cloud production platforms in the data security domain;
  • Gather requirements and use cases, and implement engineering solutions for data security operations;
  • Maintaining the current existing enterprise data security platforms, services and systems;
  • Help design new solutions to handle data discovery, classification and segregation;
  • Integrating and deploying third party services in this space;
  • Work in close collaboration with other Security Engineers and Developers in the company.
  • Be an advocate of data security engineering best practices;
  • Design, build and optimise detective, preventive controls and automated response solutions;
  • Provide Data Security guidance to the tech organization;
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have an extensive and deep practical understanding of data security concepts and implementation-level details including building SDKs, libraries, APIs;
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in data security, privacy protection and/or related security fields;
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with with high expectations
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or a related field/experience is required;
  • You have a ?can do? attitude and you are more proactive than reactive;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • You are passionate about automation and toil reduction.
EXPERIENCE
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with security systems integration in large scale environments, containerized environments, and public clouds;
  • Practitioner level experience with AWS, GCP, OCI (at least 1 cloud provider) security.
  • Experience with security systems integration, mainly Data Leakage Prevention platforms (Google Workspace DLP, ZScaler DLP and others);
  • Experience with scripting / Python, and ability to write programs for automation.
  • Experience with SQL queries to create and manage reporting dashboards.
  • Working with systems to discover, classify and protect access to critical business and PII data (e.g. BigID, OneTrust etc.);
  • Experience working with APIs for systems integration;
  • Plus: Knowledge of container infrastructure (Kubernetes and Docker);
  • Plus: Working in a hyper growth e-commerce environment
  • Plus: Certifications in Security and Cloud
