Job Description

Position Title:ÿAssistant Manager/Manager, Safe DisclosureÿLocation:ÿKarachiIntroduction to the Aga Khan University:Chartered in 1983, Aga Khan University (AKU) is a private, autonomous and self-governing international university with 13 teaching sites in 6 countries distributed across three continents.   • to maintain documents related to case handling as per Safe Disclosure policy
  • promote highest standards of ethical conduct in all the activities of case handling and work in coordination with Director SD
  • maintain notes of the meetings conducted on need basis for case discussion with Safe Disclosure team (Including concerned Trustee and the Safe Disclosure Office Members). Maintain records of decisions made, agenda items and necessary follow-ups as needed
  • receive disclosures through different routes via external service provider or any other source including posts, in person, email etc.
  • assist Director SD in conducting inquiry and determine disclosure merits investigation
  • escalate the matter to the Director SD in case of substantial risk or specific danger to the life, health, or safety of individuals, or to the environment
  • maintain a list of all cases received. List of inquiry and investigations related documents and results
  • ensure that all electronic or paper records relevant to any inquiry are kept secure
  • prepare draft of inquiry reports for Director SD?s review
  • assist Director SD in implementation of SD policy communication plan
  • prepare presentations and conduct sessions for training and communicating Safe Disclosure Policy and related key features throughout the organization
  • keep a rolling communication plan for employees in all regions.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • minimum Bachelor / Masters? Degree will be preferred
  • professional qualification would be advantageous, particularly employee relations (HR), audit or healthcare administration
  • minimum 2-3 years for Assistant Manager and 5 to 6 years? experience for Manager in audit, HR (employee relations), compliance or legal disciplines will be an added advantage
  • experience of writing full and summary reports for senior management
  • disciplined approach to case handling and reporting
  • exposure to managing employee relations/ whistleblowing programs would be useful
  • understanding of risk and control environments
  • previous exposure in in areas of academic administration, healthcare admin, risk management and/or quality assurance is beneficial
  • comfortable working with Microsoft Office (medium to expert level proficiency in excel), relevant software solution(s) (for whistleblowing) and databases
  • excellent interpersonal and people skills, particularly the ability to understand and share feelings of others
  • strong communication, presentation and listening skills
  • ability to engage and work with individuals across different cadres, teams, regions, and cultures
  • good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • analytical skills and a good eye for detail
  • ability to deal with individuals that may be emotional or in a state of stress and cope under pressure
  • comfortable in travelling (if required).
