Job Description

Assistant Manager, Department of Paediatrics & Child Health Entity: Aga Khan University Location: Karachi Introduction to the Aga Khan University:The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.Job Role / Responsibilities:You will be responsible for overall coordination of the research project which involves to prepare and update project documents, communicate with collaborators and investigators, implementation of project in the field sites and compilation of various reports. Specific responsibilities include to:

  • provide administrative assistance to teams in fleet and other resources management
  • coordinate for the hiring of project staff and provide feedback to staff on their performance, prepare reports, and attend meetings with collaborators
  • plan and organize meetings, seminars and events in respect to budgeting and logistics
  • assist Grants and Research team in developing budgets
  • ensure timely submission of budgets and prepare reports
  • maintain financial documents for audit purpose
  • visit and control financial activities at the field sites.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have:
  • a Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Administrative Sciences or ACCA
  • at least three years of relevant experience in organizations of good repute
  • capability to manage field teams, work independently and take initiatives
  • resilience and ability to cope-up with work pressure and stringent deadlines
  • proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
  • willing to travel and work with the communities and at the rural field sites
  • good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills.
