Purpose of the jobOperate, maintain and trouble shoot all the utility equipment, including the refrigeration system, air conditioning, ventilation, boilers, air compressors, water supply, forklifts, ladders and lifting equipment so as to accomplish a safe and uninterrupted utilities supply in the factory?s daily operations at the lowest possible cost.Key AccountabilitiesConduct daily routine checks on all the utilities in the factory so as to detect any damages or to check if there is a need for undertaking repairs on existing machinery. This is done through the check lists and the established utilities inspection procedures in order to keep all utilities in an excellent operational condition.Perform the daily and weekly maintenance activities as per the technical manuals and maintenance procedures.Ensure all spare parts are installed on the utilities equipment as per the manuals that contains the manufacturer instructions and the maintenance procedures. This is done without taking any health and safety risk or environmental risk thereby keeping the equipment in the standard / optimum working condition.Ensure no safety devices are by-passed.Follow the good maintenance & manufacturing practices (GMPs) by ensuring a clean and safe working environment that complies with company?s health and safety, environmental and food safety standards.Coordinate with other departments & Head of Technical in order to identify the root causes of the problems and take appropriate steps to fix it permanently.Monitor, control, record and improve the chemicals, diesel, water and electricity consumption in the utilities equipment and initiate actions to optimize it.Record all abnormal events in log sheets and escalate the critical issues regarding quality, performance, environmental & safety issues ( for ex: breakdowns, ammonia or chemicals leakages, water ? steam ? air leakages etc.) and take appropriate actions to resolve it.Attend the section reviews as per the company?s operating system (SOS) and is expected to give feedback for all agreed actions. The role also requires to agree to new actions proposed and also requires to participate in all continuous improvement activities in the factory.Ensure that all policies and procedures regarding safe operating practices are in place and are adhered to. Also personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviors.Ensure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.Support a culture that enhances behavioral awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
