Position SummaryThe Technology Consulting specialist plays a major part in IT customer?s educational needs and designing training materials on IT solutions. This role acts as a link between information technology and business customers by managing and ensuring the successful completion of business analysis tasks. This position requires well-rounded experience and ability in multiple disciplines within IT including, but not limited to business communication, business analysis, and knowledge transfer with IT personnel and customers.Scope of Work? Designs, creates, develops, customizes, and maintains training materials and resources to deliver agreed outcomes, and meet accreditation through design, configuration, and testing of training environments, including the creation of simulated data, and replication of external systems, interfaces, and assessment systems.? Plans and schedules the delivery of IT training activities. Customizes formal and informal training activities, incorporating relevant business scenarios and case studies. Designs appropriate environments and deliver learning activities to specialist audiences.? Maintains, publicizes, and promotes a catalog of IT learning and development activities. Arranges facilities and schedules with learning and development providers as appropriate.? Participate in special assignments that require a special set of expertise to be involved, as assigned by the CIO.? Helps with the yearly IT Open House and other special events as required.? Must have the flexibility to support other IT activities and projects across the university, research, and economic development.? Performs other related duties as assigned.? Plans, schedules, and monitors work to meet time and quality targets.? Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively.? Maintains knowledge of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for educating and driving awareness of such products.
