Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEWThe Structural Field Coordinator is responsible for the Structural Steel and Misc. Steel erection on-site on one of the company?s most sizable projects, coordinating building steel erection efforts with a large team of superintendents of various trades and ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality and customer satisfaction.?A client of GMS is seeking a Structural Field Coordinator with an expertise in Structural Steel erection with at least 5 years of commercial | industrial construction experience. Previous experience is working within Industrial Construction sector is a plus.?The Structural Field Coordinator will work closely with all members of the project team and will assist with the supervision of all craft employees.???ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Direct and coordinate the companys trade contractors and their subcontractors, when required, to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule
  • Supervise the construction of a large project or multiple projects;?$175+ million construction project or multiple projects in a Superintendent role
  • Supervise and develop the project team
  • Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services
  • Develop, document and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to coordinate trades, forward looking planning and ability to anticipate potential problems before they arise
  • Obtain or verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes
  • Monitor safety performance and verify safety compliance with all trades; act as primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies
  • Conduct maintenance and planning of ?work-arounds,? shutdowns and tie-ins
  • Lead contractor meetings, oversee daily reports and document using Procore on a regular basis
  • Communicate schedule status, updates and changes to Project Team and Trade Contractors
  • Coordinate and manage jobsite logistics
  • Oversee project quality plan and implement necessary changes.
  • Resolve jurisdictional disputes
  • Establish credibility among Owners, trade contractors, unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
