Job Description

Role Purpose: To conduct Micro verification and monitor all micro-related food safety risks to meet PI quality and food safety specifications in line with Quality Management System strategy.Accountabilities:

  • Conducts Micro monitoring activities that ensures on time delivery of accurate results and implementation of proficiency testing, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), results trending and reporting of micro results for raw materials, process, equipment, finished product, environment and people involved in manufacturing.
  • Leads quality, food safety micro risk assessments and proficiency testing. Validates micro-related CCPs and OPRPs to be in compliance.
  • Operates lab instruments and equipment; coordinates with QC/QA/Micro-Sanitation Section Head for the accurate and timely execution of work.
  • Calibrates tools and equipment; reports any abnormalities of equipment. Prepares micro media and equipment.
  • Motivates Microbiologists effectively through coaching and performance appraisal, provides refresher courses, and takes the lead in troubleshooting using World Class tools (PDCA, 5-Whys, SPC, etc.).? Implements the training requirement needs to develop the capabilities of the Manufacturing Team.
  • Participates in the implementation of strategic projects that contribute to the continuous improvement of the business, quality, and people.
  • Controls and monitors OPEX/CAPEX budgets for Microbiology Laboratory. Keeps track on quality and food safety related KPIs and issues; recommends solutions.
  • Ensures compliance to 3-D, M&W, AIBI, FSSC22000 standards, HSE, WCM, GMP, GLP, Sanitation, Local Regulatory Requirements and PepsiCo Best Practice Tools.
