Purpose of the jobTo drive the frontline maintenance activities in the factory so as to ensure that the manufacturing team is able to achieve its daily production targets as per the production plan by minimizing Engineering downtime. The incumbent is required to follow the Engineering Maintenance strategy with regard to breakdowns.Key AccountabilitiesMaintenancePerform preventative maintenance activity for all the production/utility equipment in order to carry out the standard maintenance schedule so as to minimize machinery breakdowns.Responsible for monitoring, updating and improving the planned maintenance system and ensure that progress is monitored as planned.Ensure that plant and equipment performs to manufacture the products efficiently and to high quality standards.To liaise, assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory.Undertake the training of others on preventive maintenance as required.Ensure reactive and preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time without fail.Make continuous improvement suggestions so as to reduce the overall machine part costs.Attend the section reviews as per the SADAFCO Operating System (SOS) by giving feedback for agreed actions or commit to new actionsplans and participate in continuous improvement activities.Must be able to do the preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of milk pasteurizers, homogenizers, filling and packaging machines, boilers, air compressors ect.Health & SafetyEnsure a clean and safe working area and potential risks are communicated for corrective action in order to follow the company?s health & safety policyPersonally demonstrate safe behavior and take responsibility for the management of health & safety of engineering staff and contractorsEnsure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirementsSupport a culture that enhances behavioral awareness to reduce accidents and ?near misses?.ReportingPrepare and fill up all required information in maintenance sheet/ report by recording any abnormal events that could happen during the production process with the equipment/machine.
