Job Description

Job/ Position Summary:Responsible to provide cost control engineering services to ongoing and new projects and assist in preparation of dynamic budgets, activity based budgets, cash / cost forecasts, work break down structure, resource histograms, and monitor project cost performance to ensure progress within projected budget.PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS (Key Result Areas):

  • Receive construction detailed resources revenue / cost loaded time schedule from Section Head Cost Control and study comments and participate with Senior Planning Engineer to prepare activities duration involved in medium and mega projects.
  • Review factors and reports such as purchase orders, subcontracting scope, real quantities, missing scope, time impact etc. and update master budget or operational budget as per policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Senior Planning Engineer for preparing detail material, labor, and equipment histograms and produce budgeted cost of work schedule.
  • Check and verify all types of project expenditures and compare with project budgets to keep track of cost and to avoid cost overruns.
  • Integrate budgeting and cost analysis reports to develop a comprehensive overview of performance to date and to determine future approach.
  • Review project performance and prepare / modify actual cost variance, material wastage and productivity reports.
  • Supervise and review work performed by Cost Control Engineers and provide approval for various activities involved in cost control process.
  • Perform other duties of a comparable level as assigned.
