Ensure that all personnel, in their own language, understand HSE Policies during induction training.
Help Site Supervisors and ensure they undertake toolbox talks to their respective personnel every week and maintain records of these sessions.
Organize the inspection of ladders, power tools and construction machinery / plant on a regular basis and maintain a record of each inspection.
Conduct daily safety inspections with subcontractors of areas of responsibility.
Ensure site is kept clean and clear from all flammable / combustible materials.
Ensure all fire and emergency appliances are in good condition and inspected.
Keep records of maintenance for all fire / emergency appliances.
Observe all involved personnel in unsafe act / unsafe condition, issue notices against violators and reported to SafetyEngineer.
Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure safety of personnel.
Submit inspection reports daily.
Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those not meeting safety requirements.
Observe personnel at work and reports failure to follow safety precautions, i.e. failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices.
Examine conditions of scaffoldings and recommend use of braces to prevent incidents.
Instruct personnel in use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
Complete daily report and submit it at the end of each day.
Understand the HSE Policies and the HSE Plan.
Ensure that the established procedures and safe working practices are implemented at all times and at all levels of personnel on site.
Give safety instructions to personnel on a daily basis, highlighting the possible hazards in that day?s work and the precautions to be taken / observed.
Prevent horseplay of any person on site and ensure the appropriate disciplinary action is taken against offenders.
Take suitable corrective measures on observations made by the Safety Engineer of the site.
Report, investigate and document all near misses and incidents in their area.
