Job Description

Job Summary:Responsible for teaching and learning of music across EYFS, KS1 and KS2: helping pupils grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments and listening. Providing support and advice to colleagues for cross curricula music: assisting the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of music instruction. Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the needs of the students and the requirements of the school.Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safeguarding of students Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to suit the educational needs of all students.
  • To enthuse students with an appreciation of the fact that music is a subject which is both useful and enjoyable to learn.
  • To teach each class and Year Group in EYFS, KS1 andKS2 to the school?s music timetable In line with examples of current best practice, to develop, evaluate, review and document the School?s Music curriculum and guidelines for the teaching and learning of music Leading school choir and other music ensembles.
  • Leading and organizing whole school musical events, performances and visits.
  • To anticipate and prepare the musical requirements of School events such as School assemblies
  • To assist colleagues requesting a musical content in class assemblies To coordinate the music and singing for an annual School Show in cooperation with relevant colleagues
  • To develop and maintain a personal, up-to-date knowledge of examples of best practice in the teaching and learning of music in the UK and wider world, and to attend occasional in-service courses to help to achieve this knowledge To ensure that the teaching of music in the School provides continuity of learning for all students. To ensure the acquisition and deployment of appropriate resources for the effective delivery of the music curriculum To establish inventories of all music equipment held by the School To carry out a twice-yearly stock- take on all music resources
