Job Description

The Embedded Software Developer will design/execute & complete embedded software development for devices and systems. He/She will also assist in the fabrication of electrical/electronic devices and testing/calibration of Electronic equipment. He/She will demonstrate strong expertise and learn from new challenges and possess the communication skills necessary to work within a highly interactive and multidisciplinary team. He/She will demonstrate a strong passion for discovery, is energized about design thinking, thrives in diversity, and can grasp both the big picture and minute technical details.Major Responsibilities

  • Design, build and test software for embedded devices and systems as per requirements.
  • Responsible for standards and documentation of software development.
  • Responsible for completing finished projects within the agreed-upon delivery time.
  • Contributes by providing design input and participating in design reviews.
  • Works with engineers to supply specifications to improve products.
  • Follows industry and company safety guidelines.
  • Performs testing and calibration of common electronic equipment (PS, Oscilloscope, DMM, etc).
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee?s knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field of his/her position.
  • ?Provide user training.
Safety and Operations
  • Notify team lead of potential safety issues.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations of KAUST
  • Notify the team lead of any issues that could compromise part quality and/or shop safety.
  • Understand proper operational safety procedures of all Electronics Workshop equipment.
Teamwork
  • Skilled to participate in both team and cross-campus multidisciplinary projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and users.
  • Seek technical and professional rapport with the user community of the central workshops.
  • Provide expertise and make a significant contribution to the Central Workshop.
