Our team of over 400 engineers and developers are empowered to develop cutting-edge technology every day.Careem was established in July 2012, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc. in January 2020, and today operates in over 100 cities across 12 countries.What youll do:We are looking to recruit a talented individual to lead the Compliance function in our KSA payments business. This will involve overseeing our compliance framework, identifying opportunities for improvement and continuing to embed a culture of Compliance. Specifically, this will involve overseeing and evaluating all aspects of Compliance ensuring that the business is compliant with Saudi Central Bank (?SCB?) standards, principles, rules and regulations, including anti-money laundering legislation.This role will oversee development and management of all Careem Pay KSA compliance activities. The focus of the role will be on managing regulatory and compliance requirements (both local and international).Key responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain Careem Pay?s regulatory compliance framework including interpretation and application of the SCB principles, rules and guidelines;
  • Review and approve the sign off of marketing materials;
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of current regulatory requirements and SCB principles, rules and guidance applicable to the Careem Pay;
  • Provide technical guidance and feedback on regulatory issues to managers and staff across the business in response to ad-hoc queries and through meetings/projects and working groups;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including the SCB);
  • Coordinating with the business on the operational requirements to launch new products;
  • Supporting the business (e.g. Integrity, Product, People Ops, Risk, Finance, Public Affairs, and Data Management and Protection) in understanding their compliance obligations, providing advice and preparing processes/procedures where necessary;
  • Preparing internal reports on new regulations or regulatory requirements in new jurisdictions (including impact analysis);
  • Turning regulatory requirements into practical process (e.g. development and maintenance of a reporting schedule);
  • Maintenance of compliance policies and procedures;
  • Preparation of internal MI reports and external reports to the SCB;
  • Conducting risks assessments, due diligence and periodic audits/quality review of outsource service providers and business partners;
  • Implementation and management of our internal compliance training programme; and
  • Implementation and management of effective AML/CTF controls which are proportionate to the nature of the Careem Pay business and risk profile.
What youll need:
  • ICA Diploma or equivalent would be preferred.
  • At least eight (8) years of total professional experience in the field of compliance with at least four (4) years of experience in the specific field of international fintech compliance in the KSA (startup fintech experience preferred);
  • Knowledge and proficient application of all relevant regulations such as FACTA and OFAC;
  • Knowledge and experience of Central Bank regulations in KSA;
  • Independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working, decisive;
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; and
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
