SummaryManages and provides leadership to medical technology service sections, within the Clinical Engineering Department, that provide for the operational and technical support od medical diagnostic, therapeutic and analytical devices and systems, utilized for applied healthcare research. Acts as the operational and technical leader for the assigned service sectionsEssential Responsibilities and Duties1.Develops operational methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned service section and Clinical Engineering Department as a whole.2.Coordinates all operational and technical support services provided by assigned service section. Ensures quality of service provided by Senior Clinical Engineers, Clinical Engineer I?s, Clinical Engineer II?s, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP?s, Interns and other assigned personnel. Ensures quality of service by external service providers. Monitors all productivity and quality of work performed by all assigned service teams within the section.3.Performs quality control and assurance on work performed in the assigned section. Ensures that all scheduled and demand maintenance is completed on schedule. Provides necessary operational and technical guidance to ensure optimum performance and timeless of work.4.Trains and orients all assigned Senior Clinical Engineers and other assigned personnel. Ensures that all assigned staff have the required operational and technical materials to ensure productivity and effectiveness of the service section. Develops servicing procedures and schedules for medical devices, as required.5.Performs all performance appraisals for staff in assigned service section.6.Prepares studies, related to technical and financial matters, regarding pre-purchase evaluation, operational and technical support of medical technology utilized with the KFSHRC, in addition to providing recommendations in order to ensure cost effectiveness. This includes recommendations on equipment replacement alternatives and contractors or in-house support options based quality and financial implications. Performs feasibility studies, as required.7.Ensures safety related to medical technology by reviewing all relevant safety notices, hazard recalls and adverse occurrences and takes necessary corrective actions accordingly.8.Is competent in the Clinical Engineering medical technology database and other related computer software programs, as required.9.Coordinates with Saudi Food & Drug Authority regarding claim requests of medical devices and products that issued by the authority.10.Actively participates in all KFSHRC committees, as assigned.11.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.12.Participates in self and others? education, training & development, as applicable.13.Performs other related duties as assigned.EducationMaster?s or Bachelor?s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredSix (6) years of related experience in maintenance of biomedical and clinical equipment including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity with Master?s or eight (8) years with Bachelor?s Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)Valid License from country of origin.
