Job Description

LocationBalad, IraqClearance LevelAbility to obtainPrimary FunctionProvide direct support to the BDOC manager in maintaining command and control of the base defense operations center, which operates a 24/7 operational cycle to support perimeter and interior security on Balad air base and serves as the Balad incident command post; supervise the "on-the-job" training effort to Iraqi air force BDOC personnel; acts as the BDOC manager as needed.Responsibilities? Represent BDOC to other sections within security group, Balad support units and program management office.? Supervise the "on-the-job" training effort and maintain records.? Manage personnel assigned.? Apply sound judgement in executing operational requirements of base defense plan (BDP) and the performance of work statement (PWS), in accordance with the relevant law of the government of Iraq (GOI), international law, and us law for security companies operating overseas.? Responsible for supporting efforts that impact security operations including coordination with Iraqi air force counterparts.? Conduct briefings to client management, corporate management, us and Iraqi government and political officials as required.? Remain cognizant of emerging threats and vulnerabilities that may adversely impact the program and communicate them to the BDOC manager.? Assist in compliance and implementation of relevant sections of iso 18788: "management systems for private security operations."? Assist with security group policy development.? Other duties as assigned by managementJob Requirements? Must have a minimum 10 years' experience gained in the employ of us military (preferably in a combat arms MOS); a private security company in a security leadership role; other us government agency, or a combination thereof.? Must have at least 5 years leadership experience in the security field directly supervising large groups of 40 or more personnel, or teams.? Minimum 3 years' hostile deployment time gained through us military, us government agency, private security company, or a combination thereof preferred.? Foreign internal defense (FID) instructor certification or similar experience highly preferred.? Graduate of electronic security systems or CCTV operations certification courses highly preferred.Preferred Qualifications? Must be thoroughly familiar with standard base defense strategies.? Ability to produce clear, concise reports of sufficient quality to be presented to clients, corporate management, us and Iraqi government and political officials.? Excellent communications skills and ability to create and maintain positive working relationships under duress.? Strong analytical skills with ability to anticipate and mitigate issues before they develop into larger concerns.? Excellent administrative and it skills, including organization and maintenance of records (digital and paper).? Excellent eye for detail and strict adherence to approved process' and procedures.? Consistently demonstrate integrity, loyalty and commitment.? Understanding of cultural factors and sensitivities when working with iraqi military and Iraqi civilian co-workers.? Highly organized and adaptive to frequent change? Ability to work in harsh climatic conditions and under austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
