Job Description

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTThe position holder reports to Head of program, Hajja sub office, Yemen.Job holder is working under the close support and guidance of Head of programme of Sub office and receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. He/she is typically involved in programme or policy activities or similar nature and analytical work of limited complexity.JOB PURPOSETo provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs or contribute to policy formulation and/or provide technical advice or oversight on progrmme strategy and implementation.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
  2. In support of the head of Program Hajja SO, the incumbent will be responsible for day to day operational issues of the Hajja SO, including follow up of the timely delivery of food in-kind, CTVN, Nutrition, CBT and?Livelihood and Resilience assistance of beneficiaries in liaison with supply chain and CBT teams, coordination of effective distribution of WFP assistance as well as monitoring all aspects of the programme by WFP partners in collaboration with WFP.
  3. Support and guide the Cooperating partners on the on-going GFA beneficiaries targeting; ensure that it is implemented according to the targeting criteria and beneficiaries selection guidance.
  4. The incumbant will also ensure the overall strategic planning considers the food security constraints in Hajja governorate and ensure the timely completion of monthly plans with support and maintaining strong coordination with the relevant units in the programme.
  5. Provide project management support to specific and defined programmes and projects of small to moderate size that are relatively straight forward in nature, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
  6. Regular field visits and maintaining of strong coordination with the local District administration and local authorities to the mentioned governorates to support on-going operation of WFP.
  7. Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
  8. Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities.
CONT: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:9. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.10. Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects.11. Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.12. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.13. Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries.14. Contribute to the Hajja office Emergency Preparedness and Response plan i.e., scenario building contingency planning in order to respond to humanitarian crises and needs.15. Other as required.
