Port Operations Supervisor

Job Description

Job title: Port Operations Supervisor [Candidates based in UAE only Division/Department: Operations Department Reports to: Superintendent Operations. Job Purpose: Under supervision of the Superintendent - Operations, the Vessel Operations Supervisor will manage and monitor contractors responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical handling of vessels operations while alongside. Other tasks related to cargo management will require sedentary period for computer input and document review. Principal Accountabilities:

• Supervises vessel planning activities prior to the ship arriving to port
• ú Coordinate with the vessel and contractors to board the vessel and complete the safety check list.
• ú Ensures the load is performed accurately and timely
• ú Responsible for ensuring vessels sail at the earliest time possible
• ú Acts as a focal point for any stevedoring issues that may arise with assigned vessel
• ú Works closely with contractors and customer service teams to ensure traffic is handled by the port in a timely manner
• ú Interacts with transporter to facilitate the timely feeding of material as per the agreed loading rate
• ú Completes required documents associated with operations.
• ú Other duties as assigned

• ú Terminal operating systems experience preferred
• ú Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• ú Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• ú Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the work environment
