Job Description

Vela scarves is looking for a Fashion Designer to lead the design process from concept to creation. You will directly affect the growth of our business by ensuring a creative and well-defined design language for the brand. This design role focuses on Modest Womens Soft Accessories, including printed & woven scarves, hats, gloves & third-layer items as well as tops.Responsibilities

• Support the design direction through style creation following the seasonal roadmap concept presentation
• Manage adherence to our product creation calendar and process
• Provide seasonal fabric and trim development direction detailing aesthetic and technical requirements
• Create tech packs to send directly to the factory
• Experience with pattern making and graphic design 2+ years
• Knowledge of print application, knitwear & wovens
• Collaborate with the Technical Design team through the fit process to ensure expression of fit is achieved for each style
• Build relationships with partners across the business including Creative Director, Print/ Graphic designer, Planning, Sourcing, Tech Design and Marketing
• Research on a regular basis to be at the forefront of trends and shifts in the Activewear and Fashion landscapes, and all parallel and influential industries
