Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONBASIC FUNCTION:To safely operate casing / tubing tongs, power units, tubular handling and cleaning equipment, JAM services and equipment, bottom hole assembly makeup, and other specialized oilfield equipment used in tubular makeup and testing services. May act as a relief supervisor and is required to act as the Company s well-site Representative when necessary. Work is performed in an onshore or offshore environment.DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:?Overall responsibility for crews and jobs offshore. Acting as point of contact with Company Representative.?Overall responsibility for safe working practices on site, and full knowledge of the Company Safety Manual and procedures.?Completion of all necessary job and equipment paperwork in line with Company procedures.?Training of Junior Technicians and assessment of their progress.?Monitoring performance of Technicians. Ability to undertake performance appraisal reports.?To safely and satisfactorily perform any given casing/tubing tong assignment.?Understand the operation and routine maintenance requirements of all tubular handling and cleaning equipment.?Understand routine and specific maintenance procedures as they relate to power tongs and power units.?Preparation of accurate delivery tickets, job reports, time-sheets and other similar administrative forms.?Must be able to prepare and dispatch equipment according to check-list procedures.?Must be able to independently operate and troubleshoot all tubular handling and cleaning equipment.?Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of MCA products and services.Aditional Responsibilities assigned?To establish crew check-in on time and ensure all crew members are fit to board the aircraft/vessel or road vehicle. In case of no show, to contact Duty Supervisor immediately by telephone.?To ensure a list of all Weatherford equipment on the installation is in his possession.To report to Company Representative upon arrival at the installation and to establish the job to be performed - e.g. torque figures, pipe weight, lubricants, MCA's, etc. and timing of job.With crew, to check all equipment in order to ensure it is in satisfactory working condition and to contact base to report any problem areas or anomalies.?Hold pr-job safety meeting.?To organize, in consultation with the Company Representative, shifts and meal breaks for the Weatherford crew.?To wor as a member of the crew of required.?To liase with the Company Representative on any problem incurred during the job and to report by telephone or fax to the shore base if necessary and as soon as is operationally feasible.?To be aware of all Company and client safety procedures/regulations and to ensure they are rigorously followed at all tmes.?To ensure all equipment is checked on completion of job and to ensure it is either stowed or made ready for back-loading in consultation with the Company Representative.QUALIFICATIONS- Technical school grades- 5 years experience in Oil & Gas
