Senior Platform Architect

Job Description

Overview The Platform Architect position is responsible for designing the Enterprise/Service provider networks. There will be participation in CLIENT related discussions and design reviews. The Platform Architect will produce design recommendations for upgrades and drive future network functionality and architectures. Additional tasks are to collect operational and trend statistics and to analyze performance results.Roles & Responsibilities1. Analysis and creation of technical and architectural artifacts of 'AS-IS' cloud and virtualization of the infrastructure in CLIENT enterprise datacenters, including OS, applications, servers hardware, storage and backup solutions.2. Provide technical expertise in enterprise class networking, storage and backup infrastructures.3. Analyze technical requirements to determine infrastructure designs, potential issues, and related costs.4. To work with EA team on the development of architecture frameworks and models, platforms, designs, strategy, technology selection and business cases.5. Responsible for the enhancement of Microsoft technology core infrastructure designs such as Active directory, DNS, and Exchange.6. Help establish a customer experience strategy while working with data center provider - management teams and CLIENT's IT local teams.7. To work with data centers and their resources, leveraging a solid understanding of troubleshooting techniques.8. To show a high-level professionalism, communication, coordination and customer service principles are essential for this position.9. Create and update technical documentation and design as needed.Skills and Competencies1. Must have a deep understanding of the data center infrastructure and operations.2. Must have a deep understanding of security, virtualization, storage, backup, cloud computing, business continuality and planning or disaster recovery.3. Must have experience with the following technologies:? Virtualization: VMWare, Hyper-v? Servers: Cisco Servers? Platform: Windows, Solaris, Linux ? Database: Oracle and SQL Server e Storage: SAN, NAS4. Must understand windows clustering and network load balancing is beneficial.5. Must be expert in Microsoft operating systems, application and tools.6. Understands the interdependence of enterprise applications (Share point, Web-based systems, ERP systems, Exchange, Active directory, etc.) Is beneficial.7. Proficiency with MS Office applications ? required8. Proven ability to apply clear critical thinking in complex, stressful situations. ? Required Experience and Qualifications1. 6 to 8 years of experience in production or pre-production IT environments - Required2. 2 to 4 years of experience deploying network and server infrastructure in enterprise Datacenter Environments - Required3. 2-3 years of deploying and supporting Cloud Services network and server Infrastructure4. Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner - Required5. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills ? Required6. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment ? Required7. Proven ability to deliver tasks on- time and adherence to deadlines. ?
