Job Description

Position Summary:Job Purpose ? Develop and lead comprehensive Loss Prevention activities including input and review of philosophies, codes of practice and standards during early project planning, detailed EPC, commissioning and start-up to ensure compliance with NFE standards. ? Lead the development of the Design Safety Case and associated deliverables and ensure these are reviewed and aligned with the OPCO? Review Contractor?s Loss Prevention/Process Safety Engineering design deliverables. Support the EPC by providing clear and timely guidance to close out LP studies/activities to complete engineering design milestones.Job Context & Major Challenge(s)? Conducts technical evaluations of multiple tenders for large capital projects, including risk based evaluation of complex technical issues, which may have a significant commercial impact on project execution, ensuring tenders are compliant, technically qualified, and consistent with project requirements. Indirectly supervises contractor?s Loss Prevention Engineering personnel to effectively steward the Loss Prevention scope in accordance with project requirements, from contract award until delivery.? Major challenge for this role is maintaining effective working relationships with contractor and stakeholders (e.g. Operations and SHEQ) to ensure alignment on overall delivery of Loss Prevention scope in accordance with project requirements and plan.? Completing a large number of SHEs studies in a timely manner to make design decisions to meet project execution milestones. ? Make practical judgements and make decisions on LP issue resolutionRole Description:Key Responsibilities/KRAs/KPIs: 1. Coordinate Loss Prevention Engineering project deliverables with Contractor personnel, Project Management Team (PMT), Clients operating and project personnel. 2. Lead / Drive EPC contractor to deliver technical safety studies (e.g. QRA, HAZOPs, PHA studies etc.) to deliver per execution plan.3. Ensure cost effective Loss Prevention programs are utilized by PMT to improve project efficiency, reduce costs, maintain high quality safety levels and schedules.4. Participate in Loss Prevention activities at Contractors? offices to align plans and schedules with safety and operational requirements as agreed in project deliverables.5. Steward contractors? Loss Prevention execution activities by understanding plans, procedures, objectives and overall job requirements; verifying contractor employs adequate numbers of qualified personnel, appropriate design tools including computer hardware and software; adheres to specifications, standards and design verification processes and provides all contract documentation for Loss Prevention scope including accurate and timely progress reporting measures.6. Advise contractor Loss Prevention organisation in respect to compliance with Clients policies for prevention of information brokering and business standards guidelines; engineering and design procedures, processes and deliverables; staffing plans, personnel suitability and adequacy and the successful resolution of any claims.7. Monitor the Loss Prevention Engineering schedule and critical milestones developing and managing recovery plans to address any delays.8. Manage interfaces with NFE Onshore Engineering Manager and Engineering team Heads to gain alignment on Loss Prevention Engineering needs, objectives and requirements.9. Oversee the timely delivery of technical attachments and scope description to all Loss Prevention related purchase orders and own related technical attachments and scope description in all fabrication and construction contracts.10. Deliver the Design Safety Case that meets the Project?s and OPCO?s requirementsOther Responsibilities: Safety Health & Environment ? Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.Qatarization Program ? Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is a condition of employment for expatriate employees. Firewall Compliance ? Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti ? trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.Team Organization:Reporting to: Engineering Manager (NFE Onshore)Team Structure: Direct reports: 1 Other Interactions:Internal? Regular interface and collaboration with Engineering Manager, Head Electrical, Process, Main I&C, Mechanical, Machinery, Piping and Civil/Structural Engineers, Operations Advisor, Engineering Advisors and Facility Engineer in NFE Onshore organisation.? Frequent contact with Operations, SEQ, and Engineering departments in QG.External? Continuous interaction with contractor Loss Prevention Leads, Senior Engineers and associated vendors and engineering sub-contractors.? Limited interaction with shareholder representatives.
