COMPANY NAME : NAKILAT-KEPPEL OFFSHORE & MARINE LIMITEDWORK LOCATION: RAS LAFFANPOSITION NAME : Pilot (Dockmaster)Job Summary and PurposeThe Pilot / Dockmaster, is an experienced sailor who will be responsible for maneuvering of vessels and rigs of all sizes. He will liaise with RLIC/QP Port and clients to maneuver vessels through RLIC waters and harbor to N-KOM docks, vice versa and within NKOM waters. As a navigational expert, with ship handling experience combined with detailed knowledge of the waterway depth, direction and strength of the wind and their impact on vessels movement. He will gainfully apply this expertise to the job to enable safe and efficient movement of vessels in the yard in accordance with the yards stemming plans.AccountabilitiesKey Accountabilities:1) Strictly follow yards safety and quality standards and SHEQS regulations.2) Responsible for safety of people and team working under his command.3) Responsible to ensure that existing system procedures, department work instructions and risk assessments are adhered to strictly and in most efficient way.4) Carry out risk assessments and put control measures as deemed appropriate for safe execution of his duties and responsibilities.5) Responsible for maneuvering of vessels and rigs of all sizes and liaising with RLIC/QP Port and clients to maneuver vessels through RLIC waters and harbor to N-KOM docks, vice versa and within NKOM waters.6) Plan courses, passage and speeds of vessels and rigs based on specialized knowledge of local winds, weather, water depths, tides, current and hazards. Discuss with vessel?s master and keep port authorities appraised of same.7) Prevent ships under navigational control from engaging in unsafe operations.8) Advise ships master on yard rules and regulations pertaining to vessel?s maneuver and stay at NKOM.9) Maintain required pilot log sheets.10) Train junior pilots and dock masters.11) Report to authorities any violations of federal, state or local pilotage laws.12) Stewardship and full responsibility for safe navigation of their vessel, including exercising authority for halting operations if safety is jeopardized in anyway.13) Appraisal, risk assessment, planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of the entire marine maneuvers.14) Coordinate with external parties (i.e. Surveyors and port authorities) in terms of planning and scheduling of vessel movements.15) Responsible for allocated departmental duties such as Load testing of LSA and lifting appliances, floating dock operation and phase 5 operations.16) To carry out any other duty as instructed by department head.Key Result Areas? Minimum 2 years pilotage experience at reputable international Port or Oil Terminal? Pilotage experience should cover all types of vessels with unlimited tonnageJob Specific Competencies:i.
