Job Description

A Boom Truck Driver/Operator is responsible for safely operating a boom truck to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites, industrial facilities, or other work locations. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively.

  1. Safe Operation: Operate the boom truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines. Perform pre- and post-operation equipment checks.
  2. Material Handling: Lift, position, and transport heavy materials and equipment using the boom truck. This may include steel beams, construction materials, machinery, or other items as required.
  3. Load Securement: Ensure that all loads are properly secured to prevent accidents or damage during transport.
  4. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of the boom truck, including checking oil, water, and other fluid levels. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions for timely repairs.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors. Follow instructions and work collaboratively with other workers on the site.
  6. Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including equipment maintenance, fuel usage, and any incidents or accidents.
  8. Compliance: Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the operation of boom trucks and other heavy equipment.
