Manages the department - plan, organize, manage, coordinate and controls the department strategies and programs, procedures and technical approaches; develops, plans and schedules the short and long term programs to optimize plant availability. The following illustrates his job summary: Manages the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation. Manages development of maintenance operating plan including objectives, goals and actions. ? Manages development of maintenance budget and monitor the expenditures for cost control. ? Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed. ? Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management. ? Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians. ?
