Job Description

Role DefinitionLead Planning Engineer role is to function at business and project /programme level, being at the center of communication excellence using project control techniques to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects, while minimizing claims and disputes between project stakeholders.The Lead Planning Engineer will develop working project programmes and monitor these within the performance and management framework established for the development.The Lead Planning Engineer is an effective manager, communicator, problem-solver and organizer.Line of ReportingProjects Control ManagerLocationDammam, Head officeCore Accountabilities

  • Produces Plans, Programmes and Projects, controls information, sets the performance baselines
  • Monitors project performance against performance baselines
  • Recommends, enables and controls future actions of consultants and contractors
  • Understands and works within contractual frameworks
  • Reports internally and to clients
  • Can work across multiple projects simultaneously
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop initiation programmes for all development stages
  • Develop an overall development project progress control system for all phases

  • Effectively present project plans to stakeholders
  • Ensure supplier programmes are compliant and in line with the detailed plan and progress monitoring systems
  • Monitor suppliers and Subcontractors Rate of Progress to ensure that this is consistent with the project plan
  • Draw up action plans for the recovery of slippage and implement these with Vendors.
  • Assist with the analysis of vendors claims to ensure that these are appropriately responded to
  • Close-out planning functions for each project and ensure of data is correctly administered for the project
  • Review and understand all relevant project documents and conditions
  • Establish and define project control procedures and identify the level of resources required to operate them
  • Develop in conjunction with the PMO ,Project Manager/Director ,HR and Client, a suitable work breakdown structure for the project
  • Establish and communicate cost and schedule baselines and ensure control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance
  • Review overall project status with the Project Control Team and recommend corrective action where necessary
  • Ensure that all cost, planning and document control reports are prepared in accordance with the Project Control Manual
  • Other planning management duties as assigned by the Projects Control Manager /PMO.
Qualifications required
  • Bachelor of Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of professional working experience in the sector.
