Job Description

Purpose of the Job (Overall Accountability)

  • This job holder will be responsible for developing, adapting, and adopting strategies, rules & policies relative to Inventory Management, and Warehouse Control, for both types of warehouses Bonded or owned , that support the subordinates roles and ensure optimizing the utilization, efficiency, and service in regard of Material Management; holding, flow, ordering, lot size, repetition, expediting and validating of materials.
  • The job holder is responsible to provide training for lower level employees, by means of his responsibilities, tackle advanced techniques and methodologies.
  • The job holder is responsible to provide leadership and assign responsibility for the functional and financial control of the department including development and management of an annual business plan and budget.Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities?
  • Establish and modify inventory management strategies and guidelines to ensure consistency of processes, through working with:
    • Supply Chain Management.
    • ABC analysis.
    • Baseline assessment of Suppliers.
    • Minimum Stock and Safety Stock Criteria.
    • Warehouse Layout; 5s, FIFO, LIFO, STP?etc.
    • Physical Inventory Management.
    • Forecasting and Demand Planning.
    • ERP Implementation.
    • Troubleshooting, Compromised and Arbitrary Practices.
  • Responsible for defining and implementing an inventory planning, allocation and replenishment program that ensure adequate stock levels while maximizing inventory productivity.
  • Oversee and scan of processes implementation and subordinates performance, and ensuring the adequate methodologies provide the accurate results of On-Hand stock.
  • Ability to initiate, prescribe ERP Reports related to Activities within Purchasing Function that link to the desired traceability.
  • Oversee all aspects of forecasting, assortment planning, replenishment, receiving, issuing and distribution when needed.
  • Manage the cycle count and physical inventory activities; monitor variances and identify or resolve issues.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance the function activities.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range inventory guidelines that imitate the departmental plans.
  • Manage internal purchasing process and the placing of orders with external suppliers, where appropriate.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for the business to make immediate and long term cost savings under respective area.
  • Recommend a reliable and efficient base of suppliers who provide good value across a wide range of Group requirements as outputs of service provided.
  • Provide functional guidance, training and coordination for all aspects of Inventory Management including operational and capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate communication with Accounting, Store and Operation/Production management and other impacted departments.
  • Managerial General Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that subordinates have the required knowledge, skills, competencies and experience in order to reach the Departments objectives.
  • Contributes to the selection of personnel within the Department, and oversee the orientation and the performance for new employees.
  • Formulating broad guidelines for public relations, group culture, and reputation.
  • Contribute, follow up, persuade, accomplish, and or ensure fulfillment of annual KPIs desired by the respective area and by the Department in all.
  • Contributes to the performance and performance appraisal process and ensures that individual and collective performance standards are reached within the Department.
  • Track, rectify, and follow up in adhering to budget, and propose fair justification for needed deviations, and or recommend and control solutions to overcome unaccepted or expected deviations, and provide with reports stand for.
  • Identifies development needs within the Department and ensures that staff receives appropriate training on an ongoing basis in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Supervise the employees and the operations of reporting areas within the Department and monitor performance on a periodic basis.

  • Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or any related fields.
  • Proven Ability to work with various inventory management, ie Minitab, SPSS, or any analytical-compatible software.
  • .Minimum 5 years experience as Inventory Manager for a well-known industry, for a large group or Enterprise.
  • Fluency in Arabic or English; reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Desirable
  • Total Experience in Purchasing, Warehouse, or related fields more than 7 years.
  • Master Degree in Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering Management.
  • Past Designation related to Problem Solving.
  • Familiarity of working with BOM, Demand, Preventive Maintenance Programs?etc.
  • Commercial back ground with knowledge of importing and customs clearance.
  • Knowledge of Just-In-Time (JIT) and Lean Manufacturing.
