Job Description

Role Purpose:The Health, Safety and Environment Engineer will monitor and assess hazardous situations and develop measures to assure personnel safety.Key Activities:

  • The Safety Officer communicates with the line manager and QHSE senior officer to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.?
  • Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
  • Follow up implementing the safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and the community.
  • Organize and schedule required safety staff and first aid coverage.
  • Provide direction, support and resource to all company managers, supervisors, foremen and operators.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.?
  • Participate and assist the supervisors, foreman and Senior QHSE officer in investigating incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
  • Participate in health and safety meetings to identify/discuss any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations work areas/offices.
  • Ensure implementation of Safety and Health Plan.
  • Review the first Aids room for the existence of the needed first aid tools, medications.
  • Maintain accidents/near misses Log.
  • Conduct the safety orientation for the newly hired and visitors.
  • Prepare regular inspection reports about the status of HSE at all company areas.
  • Ensure injured workers are offered modified duties/if needed and documentation has been completed.?
  • Be in charge of the requirements and compliance with the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), MODON and Civil Defense and other governmental authorities
