Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
Diagnosing and repairing fuel systems. (e.g. Injector, Pump)
Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
Measure vehicle / Equipment emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits
Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Overhauls and repairs engines and transmissions on gas and diesel equipment.
Replaces shock absorbers, checks and balances wheels, and checks for proper tire alignment.
Performs emission control repair, replacement, and testing on all required vehicles
Provide reports on the vehicle after repair
Educate vehicle operators on preventative maintenance, including servicing
Maintain cleanliness of work area
Communicate with the Manager on a regular basis about work performed, necessary changes, new parts needed or any other concerns related to repair or maintenance work on vehicles
Keep up with required knowledge and skills in automotive maintenance by attending workshops, seminars or other classes to help ensure the work completed is of the highest quality.
Maintain a clean working environment on the automotive service floor
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
