Job Description

A Collections Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of outstanding payments from customers. They play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring timely and accurate payment collection.Responsibilities:

  1. Initiate collection efforts by contacting customers via phone, email, or in-person to remind them of their outstanding payments.
  2. Negotiate payment terms and arrangements with delinquent customers to establish repayment plans.
  3. Monitor and follow-up on payment commitments to ensure timely payment.
  4. Investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies or disputes to ensure accurate billing and collection.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, including payment history and customer interactions.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a private sector organization.
  2. Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with customers and resolve payment issues.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and address any payment discrepancies or disputes.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining collection records and documentation.
  6. Preferred background and experience in accounting.
