We seek an outstanding individual with experience in teaching physiology to participate in the development and delivery of an innovative, interdisciplinary medical curriculum. The successful candidate will join a growing group of neuroscience investigators examining the neurobiology of pain across a variety of preclinical models using sophisticated imaging, molecular, and behavioral analyses. Individuals with research interests that complement the existing research programs at the University are preferred. We are particularly interested in investigators utilizing two-photon microscopy and whole-cell electrophysiology techniques. Research space with state-of-the-art shared instrumentation is available as part of an NIH funded Center for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE ). Maine?s only medical school, UNE COM is located on the southern Maine coast, 90 minutes north of Boston. Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining a competitive, extramurally funded research program. Additional responsibilities include team-based delivery of innovative medical and dental curricula, and providing academic service to the college, university, and his/her profession. Qualifications Doctoral degree with significant interest and experience in electrophysiology and two-photon imaging, with preferred experience in teaching physiology. Expected to be established in their field of expertise, preferably with demonstrated research independence as evidenced by funding and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Ideally, will have demonstrated success in teaching in the health sciences professions. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
