Jumia offers unique opportunities in a vibrant and booming environment, creating new jobs, new skills, and empowering a new generation.Main Responsibilities* Accountability and responsibility for managing the logistics cost contribution for Seller Operations which includes driving continuous improvement efforts to ensure Jumia Services is supporting sellers in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring contractual commitments and SLAs are met. * Responsible for defining, building, and executing a mutually beneficial operating plan to provide clarity and structure within the Seller Operations department * Share part responsibility with the Vendor Support and Vendor Experience team at Jumia E-commerce for the management of vendor experience which includes measuring satisfaction, establishing improvement targets, and defining interdepartmental improvement plans to ensure high vendor satisfaction. * Provide weekly business and strategy updates to company leadership to ensure sustained alignment, support, and commitment. * Maintain subject matter expertise on eCommerce marketplace activities by monitoring competitor and industry leader processes, technology improvements, etc. and benchmarking against Jumia Services. Communicate effectively to company leadership process improvement and technology feature requests to give Jumia a competitive advantage over the rest of the market. * Manage the recruitment of top talent. Coach manage and mentor the existing team. Set clear and effective individual and team targets that are focused on lean and sustainable vendor satisfaction. * Liaise with internal departments to ensure that any vendor issues are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. * Help establish, monitor, report and analyze vendor volumes and trends in relation to forecasts. * Ensure Seller Operations meets all KPIs and operational metric set for the department. * Ensure compliance with current policies and procedures and proposing amendments to these policies and procedures to the Country Manager as required. Required Skills & Qualifications * A Bachelors or advanced degree in supply chain discipline, logistics management and/or operations or related experience * Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet etc. * Proficient in Google Office Suite Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, etc. * Minimum 8 years-total experience in sales, operations and/or vendor management, experience, preferably within distribution, transportation or customer contact operations is required * Process oriented, well-organized with a high level of attention to detail * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Excellent analytical ability; ability to leverage analytical work into action-oriented reporting and plans of action. * Strong drive and leadership;We Offer* A unique experience in an entrepreneurial, yet structured environment * A unique opportunity of having strong impact in building the African ecommerce sector * The opportunity to become part of a highly professional and dynamic team * An unparalleled personal and professional growth as our longer-term objective is to train the next generation of leaders
