Contribute towards the development of a wide variety of gender transformative activities, plans and processes in the?Country Offices in the region, ensuring alignment with the United Nations System-Wide Action Plan on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN SWAP) and the new Gender Policy (2022-2026);
Support in the implementation of the Gender Policy (2022-2026) objectives, through rolling out and ensuring the right implementation of the WFP gender mainstreaming tools in the region, such as Gender Transformation Programme, IASC Gender and Age Marker, Gender Results Network, and the Regional Gender Action Plan;
Promote effective information-sharing by leading the knowledge management and gender and communication-related matters, and supporting the organization with external presentations, products, and events showcasing WFP experience and learning;
Develop and coordinate data gathering, monitoring, and oversight systems ensuring that gender is integrated into all programme evaluations, reports, and analyses done at the Country Offices or at the regional level;
?Contribute to and support the Country Offices in the preparation of accurate and timely gender reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information;
Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor programmes and highlight potential gender and protection risks to project delivery;
Support the gender capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through providing inputs into training materials;?
Support in the development and management of potential partnerships to identify areas for improvement and mutual accountability for integrating Gender Equality and Women?s Empowerment (GEWE) into WFP food assistance; and
Perform other duties as required.
