Responsibilities: Reporting to the News Director for Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Sudan, this reporter will work closely with AP colleagues in Egypt and throughout the region, aiming to consistently break news and produce distinct, deeply reported enterprise about a broad range of topics. This includes the civil war in Yemen, the ongoing conflict in Libya, Sudan?s derailed transition to democracy and the different facets of authoritarian rule in Egypt. This journalist will primarily be a text reporter but will also be comfortable working in multiple media formats. The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to work any shift, including at night and on weekends, or as coverage demands, as AP is a 24/7 operation.
