Material Handling Engineer page is loadedMaterial Handling EngineerlocationsGiza, Egypt time typeFull time posted onPosted Today job requisition idJR-000092596The responsibilities for this position are broken down as follows: Local (applicable to the MEO only), Global (applicable across GM-defined regions)Local (95%)Ensure full compliance with GM safety and environmental standards, conduct regular tour and assessments.Ensure the engagement of operators in the achievement of the Business Plan Deployment targets in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment, according to a standardized processes using GMS toolsReview area score card, participate and/or lead the daily operations meetings to track key business results, manage changes and act on deviationsMaintains constant contact with production floor operations to support their needsParticipate in Continuous Improvement workshopsSupports and participates in engineering change, prototype, pilot and model change programsAudit material records and analysis variance to act upon shortages and excess with relevant committeesWork closely with material flow team on equipment flow and layout optimization for safe and lean operationsWork closely with packaging engineer on packaging improvement initiatives to comply with safety standard and enhance quality and cost performance.Ensure the effectiveness of the shop floor escalation tools especially NCRs, ESC, TPM, maintenance and facility WO, and LA action plan.Comply with local and global procedures and Internal Controls requirements within the functionConduct regular audits and ensure process compliance with local and global procedures, GMS elements, ISO standards, and Internal Controls requirements with the function.Participates on updating, validation, and full compliance for the Plan for Every Part.Through manpower and equipment distribution, improve labor utilization and achieve productivity improvement targets.Represents the department in various activities or committees as requiredGlobal (5%)Interact with global stakeholders when sharing best practices application and innovation marketplace.Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and CompetenciesKnowledge and Experience:Minimum 1+ years of experience in the industrial field, preferred in material handling, supply chain operations/planning, warehousing, production, or industrial engineering.Education:Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or any related filedLean-six sigma or CPIM is a plusSkills:Having good communication and leadership skills in terms of leading by example, being collaborative, inspiring others and encouraging innovative thinking within the hourly and developing positive working relationships with other employees.Competencies:Action OrientedDrive for ResultsTimely Decision MakingProblem SolvingConflict ManagementInterpersonal Savvy* Time ManagementAbout GMOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.Why Join UsWe aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
