Job Description

OverviewIDC Egypt is looking for a Market Research/ Data Analyst to join the Cairo team.This resource would be the corner stone for the expansion of the Spending Guide in African countries, with his/her effort to collect data mainly through primary research and market insights from the African countries, in addition to valuable contribution to the potential coming consulting projects for the African countries from the vertical concepts.Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation and regular update of IDCs data products under the Spending Guides umbrella. This includes sizing technology markets and forecasting the trends within specific technologies, verticals, and segments, with special focus on African Countries.
  • Process large data sets and work with IDC proprietary systems to support IDCs data products and ad-hoc consulting projects.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to support data products, consulting projects, and verticals reports in African Countries.
  • Build African database for Verticals which is the base for the SG expansion in Africa ? this is derived from Primary Research, Secondary Research and Internal coordination with African local team.
Qualifications
  • Degree from a well-recognized university.
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in Data Analysis, Market Research, Technology (ICT).
  • Knowledge of African Market is plus
  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to spot and draw inferences from technology market data
  • Strong data entry and processing skills. Basic understanding of market sizing and data modeling.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (functions, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Strong secondary research skills (scanning the Internet and finding news and data relevant to the ICT market). Basic understanding and familiarity with IT market developments and knowledge of technologies.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Strong business writing and research skills.
