Job Description

Job Summary:A legal director is the head of a company?s legal team. In this management role, you handle strategic leadership and work closely with legal staff, the board of directors, and company executives.Your job duties may include working on license agreements, advising company management on legal issues, supervising department employees, and managing legal affairs.The position typically requires a law degree and extensive experience in corporate, financial, or business law. Additional qualifications include excellent managerial, analytical, and interpersonal skills.?

  • Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.).
  • Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company?s full?legal rights and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues and statutory compliances.
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
  • Prepare writs, defenses, submissions and other pleadings cases both for and against the Company. Prepare, file and plead cases in competent court in pursuit of amounts owed to the Company.
  • Submit quarterly reports on targets achieved together with an appraisal report to top management
  • Maintain, a database of the status of all court matters involving the Company.
  • Represent the Company at Arbitration and Public Utilities Commission hearings.
  • Manages the staff members of the legal department to assure following the best Legal Practices.
