The PositionSummarySupports the development and implementation of Roche strategic policy plan in support of Roche priorities and able to shape the external environment towards innovation and better patient outcome. This is through engaging with all relevant (policy) stakeholders to advocate for faster and comprehensive access to our innovations and enhancing Roche?s reputation in leading healthcare innovation.This includes working with policy stakeholders, advocacy groups, patient organizations, the media and other stakeholders that can help achieving our goals of a society with the best healthcare solutions.The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Middle East policy environment with a special focus on Egyptian policy environment.This position involves working within a network of colleagues in the Middle East, EMEA and across the globe. This is to bring the expertise and the learnings from Egypt to the network, while also using the network for finding solutions and inspiration..Your responsibilities:

• Scanning and interpreting t relevant policies, regulations and trends
• Building and maintaining a broad network of relevant stakeholders, key influencers and thought experts in relevant areas
• Developing and executing policy strategies for Egypt
• Transforming policy strategy into tangible policy results
• Driving policy priorities by liaising with external stakeholders within key therapeutic areas
• External stakeholder management that shapes the environment in an impactful way in accordance with business priorities and global positions through lobby/stakeholder engagement among the stakeholders that are key decision makers and influencers such as (but not restricted to) the Ministry of Health, UHI, Supra National organizations, Parliament & embassies.
• Translating Roche?s Government affairs vision and strategy into local strategies and execute the respective plans
• Increasing funding for disease areas with unmet needs
• Encouraging strategic investment in diagnostic infrastructure and services
• Collaborating with internal teams to convey Roche?s positions and messages

Who You Are

• You have between 7 and 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry or similar regulated industry; out of which at least 3 to 5 years of market access, governmental affairs, policy experience
• Or you have experience in working in a political organization, preferably in a public authority, advocacy group or similar
• Proven knowledge in Egyptian healthcare system(s) and policy shaping
• You are able to create and deliver strategic vision
• You are able to successfully navigate in the Egyptian legislative environment and link it to Roche strategy
• You own critical thinking and creative mindset
• You possess excellent communication skills to facilitate communicating complex information clearly internally and Externally
• Entrepreneurial attitude, e.g. challenges the status quo and takes calculated risks
• You are able to work cross-functionally across the Egyptian affiliate as well as working very independently

• You built strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to build successful relationships at all levels
• You own a collaborative mindset with the capability of building networks around a common objective or issue

• You are fluent in English and Arabic
