Job Description

Role purpose: The Service Design & Transition project management office sits within Group Enterprise Commercial & Operations organisation. It is part of the Run vertical within the Sell, Build, Run Enterprise Operating Model. The purpose of the Service Design & Transition project management office is to drive, influence & effectively deliver service readiness for new/existing group products and services as well all group enterprise customers (VGE), by applying best practice within a framework of flexible principles.Service Transition uses a framework built on the PRINCE2 best practice. It involves demand management tracking/reporting, assurance/quality control, information management, risk/issue tracking, and change control, support and knowledge management/learning from experience.The Programme Manager will support and shape the delivery of key projects within the Group Enterprise Commercial & Operations organisation portfolio by offering impartial, expert guidance and support aimed at enabling delivery of the agreed business outcomes. This will include identifying key project stakeholders and agreeing with them an appropriate support and assurance regime based on project complexity.The role involves the continuous management of a number of project managers, monitor and improve their performance, secure required resources using formal processes and tools to manage these resources, risks, changes and budgets (as applicable).Key accountabilities and decision ownership ? Your key responsibility to upstream stakeholders is to monitor progress for individual projects, understand and track delivery, helping anticipate and pro-actively resolve key risks to delivery and benefits realisation.? You will conduct impartial project reviews and health-checks to ensure the overall delivery safety of projects, addressing actions and requirements arising from these reviews.? You?ll also take a leading role in the development and implementation of common project and programme management standards including our framework ethos, Vodafone ways of working and associated tools and documentation such as Service Transition project reporting, project information systems, governance, business cases, benefits-led delivery planning.? You will develop key interactive relationships with cross functional Project Managers, Product Managers, and Programme Managers, to:1. Drive on-time project and milestone delivery2. Plan and adherence to Enterprise roadmap3. Raise quality and lower cost4. Ensure project alignment to Enterprise strategy5. Issue resolution around specific stakeholder engagements? Provides Business Assurance to Senior Management focused on the benefits and value and consequently, risk, progress etc.? Subject Matter Expert for the delivery framework Process/Methodology across Enterprise.? Ability to effectively perform upstream reporting to senior stakeholders? Provides formal Quality Review on governance and delivery Artefacts.? You will be a leading a number of contributors to the production of high-quality, action-orientated reporting for the Service Transition Projects Office,Core competencies, knowledge and experience:? PRINCE2 Practitioner/PMP Certified? University degree, with 6-8 years? telecom experience? Minimum 3-4 years Project Management experience? Proficient in Microsoft product suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, Visio? Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing diverse senior management/executive stakeholders.? Confident in becoming Subject Matter Expert.? Experience taking a leadership role as change champion.? Experience defining quality/assurance policy and procedures across the project delivery lifecycle.? Experience in financial analysis - benefits realisation and cost benefit analysis.? Direct experience with Project, Programme and Portfolio budget management/forecasting.? Strong presentation skills including storytelling capability. Proven communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence.? Ability to build excellent working relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.? Experience with critical path and AGILE methodology beneficial. .? Proven ability to manage in dynamic, high-growth, high-uncertainty environments? Practical experience of transforming business requirements to functional capabilities? Ability to interact and work with an international and distributed virtual team.? Demonstrated ability of managing teams and people applying the Vodafone Way of working.Must have technical / professional qualifications:? Project Management Experience? PRINCE2/PMP Certification?
