DescriptionRole purpose:Energy cost in Vodafone globally is approx. ?1bn [20 bn EGP] per year and expected to increase due to 1) higher consumption driven by new services and bandwidth and 2) volatile and rising energy prices. Energy consumption also contributes to 95% of our greenhouse gas emissions. Vodafone has therefore defined energy innovation as a transformation objective and set public targets to achieve 100% renewable electricity supply by 2025 and Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.The Energy Performance team in Group Technology leads the related strategy and programme across our 20 markets globally. A key component of this strategy is to manage and analyse our energy data effectively and efficiently by using big data analytics and machine learning in addition to conventional tools.Purpose of the role as the Energy Performance & Shared Services Team Lead in Technology Shared Services (TSS) is to support the business transformation to more energy efficient practices, ensuring the day-to-day operation of Vodafone?s global energy data platform with high quality data and on-boarding of new services which enables Vodafone Group and local markets to deliver energy consumption and cost savings. The main services currently covered by the role include Energy Data Management (EDM), Energy Invoice Management, Sutainable Business Reporting and Radio Software Feature Optimisation. EDM is a mature service with the others requiring onboarding and establishing a service operating model to ensure high quality outputs and support for the users in central and local market functions.The role holder reports into the Head of Energy Performance team in Vodafone?s Network Strategy & Engineering function. He/she is the key interface between his/her team and other VOIS teams, local market energy teams and group functions like Supply Chain Management, Finance and Sustainable Business teams. This is a unique opportunity to create and manage industry leading services for multiple countries, driving innovation and pushing the boundaries in energy data management and analytics.Key accountabilitiesKey accountabilities and decision ownership:Leads the Energy Services and Analytics team which includes data analysts, system engineers, data scientists and business analysts. Accountable for Team?s development plan and training requirementsAccountable for leading the team in all aspects of service delivery, i.e., operating and managing the advanced energy management platform at the agreed KPIs; including data imports, quality assurance, reporting, analytics and ad-hoc requestsAccountable for managing relationships with local markets through monthly service reviews to ensure the service meets data quality KPIs and manage escalations. Ensuring new services are onboarded into this operating modelAccountable for driving EDM product development roadmap to ensure high value features are implemented and scaled, product release life cycle, demand management & team utilizationSupporting the Group Energy Performance team in prototyping of new capabilities and services and resourcing ad hoc analysisLead Vendor Service Reviews and drive improvements and new feature developmentSkillsCore competencies, knowledge and experience:Strong stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and engagement skills in an international and cross-functional environmentHighly customer focused individual with a clear passion for delivering ahead of customer expectationsExcellent at planning, implementing and tracking deliverables to ensure progress marries up to the product roadmpExperience in operating data-related service teams ideally with focus on energy dataExpected to be analytic & designed thinking and result and future-orientedGood understanding of energy and telecommunication technology. Ideally experience with smart meter and controls technology and data protocols/interfaces, (e.g., M-Bus, Modbus, Json, CSV).Experience in Agile delivery and in data analytics and visualisationsVery good English language skills (spoken and written) and ideally additional languages like German, Spanish & ItalianMust have technical/professional qualifications:Degree in IT, science, engineering, or equivalent experienceService Management (e.g., ITIL) and business improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)#_VOIS #movewithus
